Micro Needling

How does Micro-Needling work?

As the device slides along the skin, it penetrates the upper layers of the skin (epidermis and superficial dermis) to create tiny needle wounds. The body recognizes these wounds and responds by delivering cells that help produce new collagen and elastin fibers. We then see more youthful skin with a reduction in wrinkles and scars.

What are the benefits of Micro-Needling?

Micro-needling results in a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, creating younger-looking skin with fewer signs of aging. Micro-Needling also has a positive effect on hyper-pigmentation and on hypo-pigmentation, acne scars, traumatic scars and stretch marks and generally creates a fresher appearance or glow to the skin.
Micro-needling can be used to treat a variety of different skin conditions, including

*Fine and deep wrinkles

*Scars caused by acne, previous surgeries and burns

*Stretch marks

*Sagging skin

*Pigmentation from Melasma

Is the procedure painful?

With the use of topical numbing creams, the sensitivity felt by the patient is minimal.

What does it feel like?

The feeling associated with Micro-Needling is similar to light sandpaper being moved across the skin. While some areas are more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating needle tip reduces discomfort, while the applied hydrating gel also makes the treatment more tolerable.

How many treatments will I need?

For most patients, Micro-Needling can be repeated every 4-6 weeks. The stimulation of new collagen responds best with at least 3 treatments. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars, it is recommended you receive 6-8 sessions at 4-6 week intervals.
